Transportation Planner

Position Purpose:     Continuously monitor transportation activities to successfully achieve desired service level and company goals, while reducing. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.    Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities: Ensure on-time and accurate transportation planning for all outbound and inbound package movements Develop and sustain carrier relationships Provide daily management of transportation operations Evaluate and implement continuous improvement on freight service and freight cost Develop operational metrics and report on freight costs Become the key point of contact for SAP-TM responsibilities Coordinate with production planning, sales, customer service and terminals to achieve on-time service results Review new carriers and rate competitiveness   Education, Skills and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain or equivalent qualified experience.
