The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in live production management preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to calculate feed requirements, manage and weigh birds, prioritize work schedules, and troubleshoot issues related to bird growth and performance.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation with 24-hour availability as needed.
- Self-motivated with the ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Valid driver's license required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may vary according to departmental needs, but will generally include:
Supervise all aspects of company-owned and operated farms, including employee management, safety, maintenance, production, and overall farm operations.
Recruit, hire, and retain staff, including supervisors, farm leads, and hourly employees.
Develop and maintain employee work schedules to ensure adequate staffing and operational efficiency.
Coach, train, and develop employees to meet and exceed company expectations and performance standards.
Ensure compliance with all biosecurity, strain security, animal welfare, and human health and safety policies and procedures.
Coordinate with internal and external maintenance personel to ensure proper equipment functionality and facility upkeep.
Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve operational goals.
Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with management regarding farm performance and operational needs.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
