Summary:
The Supply Chain Assessment Manager is responsible for supporting comprehensive supply chain assessment engagements and delivering objective, data-driven insights that support transformational improvement across healthcare organizations. This role leads assigned assessment workstreams and supports execution of assessment projects from initiation through final recommendation delivery while ensuring consistent application of enterprise methodologies, benchmarking standards, and assessment tools.
The Manager conducts stakeholder interviews, onsite assessments, operational observations, data collection, and analysis to evaluate supply chain performance, operating models, governance, technology, and workforce effectiveness. Working across cross-functional teams, this role translates assessment findings into actionable recommendations, improvement opportunities, and implementation priorities that support financial performance, operational excellence, and enterprise alignment.
The Manager serves as a key contributor within the assessment delivery model, partnering with Director(s) and Sr Director(s) to execute assessment activities, validate findings, and develop high-quality deliverables. This role applies sound judgment, analytical rigor, and effective stakeholder engagement to support successful assessment outcomes across client engagements.
Responsibilities:
Assessment Leadership & Execution
Lead assigned assessment workstreams and support assessment activities from initiation through delivery of findings and recommendations.
Execute enterprise assessment frameworks, including stakeholder interviews, operational observations, data collection, and analysis, ensuring alignment with established standards, methodologies, and tools.
Evaluate financial, operational, and clinical performance through analytics, benchmarking, and assessment against leading practices.
Identify performance gaps and support development of actionable recommendations, improvement strategies, and implementation priorities in partnership with client and internal stakeholders.
Performance Analysis & Insights
Quantify improvement opportunities and estimate potential financial and operational impact through data analysis, benchmarking, and performance evaluation.
Validate assessment findings and develop insights that support measurable improvement opportunities.
Support development of business cases, recommendations, and implementation priorities by identifying risks, barriers, and performance variances.
Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Support assessment-related interactions with client stakeholders and participate in stakeholder interviews, working sessions, and assessment reviews.
Partner with sourcing, P2P, analytics, clinical integration, and operations teams to gather inputs, validate findings, and align assessment insights.
Prepare materials and analyses that support presentation of assessment findings and recommendations to client and internal stakeholders.
Contribute to alignment across stakeholders in complex healthcare environments.
Delivery Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Ensure adherence to enterprise standards, operating procedures, and quality controls.
Support consistency, scalability, and efficiency of assessment delivery across engagements.
Contribute feedback to improve assessment methodologies, tools, templates, and deliverables.
Apply AI-enabled tools to support assessment activities, research, analysis, and deliverable development while independently evaluating outputs for accuracy, relevance, and alignment with client and business objectives.
Technical Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
Share knowledge, leading practices, and assessment insights with team members to support successful engagement delivery.
Contribute to onboarding and development of new team members through collaboration and knowledge transfer.
Participate in continuous learning and capability development across assessment methodologies and healthcare supply chain leading practices.
Scope of Work
Supports assessment activities across the Spend Management portfolio, including:
Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
Strategic sourcing
Enterprise and non-labor spend management
Value analysis and clinical integration
Indirect and support services
Ambulatory and non-acute/alternate site operations
Qualifications:
Relevant degree in healthcare administration, supply chain, healthcare operations management, business, or related field.
5+ years of experience in healthcare supply chain, operations, consulting, analytics, or performance improvement.
Experience supporting assessments, operational diagnostics, performance improvement initiatives, or consulting engagements.
Working knowledge of healthcare provider operations, supply chain functions, and spend management strategies.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to complex engagements in fast-paced environments.
Effective communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and present findings clearly.
Demonstrated AI Fluency with the ability to independently apply AI tools to improve productivity, evaluate AI-generated content critically, and effectively integrate AI-supported insights into day-to-day work.
Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients’ needs and timetables.
Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.This position is also incentive eligible.
