
Machine Opr B-CNC Mill Turn - 2nd Shift
Job Description
Job Summary:
Sets up and operates a variety of machines and equipment simultaneously to machine aircraft parts. Predominate machine; numerical controlled lathes/mill-turn. May be required to assist higher and lower grade operators.
Job Responsibilities:
• Setup and operate machines and equipment to perform a variety of machining and finishing operations.
o Setup and operate numerical controlled mills, production grinders, lathes, drills, saws and other comparable machines and equipment as required.
• Requires basic knowledge, skill, and judgement in the selection of tooling and cutters, procedures and sequence of operations, quality standards and output, and materials for machining operations.
• Performs deburring, blending, and grinding operations as required.
• Maintains tooling, cutters, and material storage areas within the profile machining cell.
• Responsible only for own work.
• Performs other duties as required.
Education:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.
Experience:
Requires a minimum one year of diversified machines experience to include computer numerical controlled (CNC) lathes, production mills, and other related machines. Must satisfactorily complete the Mach Opr B-CNC Mill Turn checklist within ninety (90) days of entering the classification. Demonstrates the knowledge of blueprints and the use of precision measuring instruments.
Working Conditions:
Typical machine shop working conditions with occasional exposure to coolant and noise.
