Job Description
To enable each child to pursue his education as smoothly and with as much continuity as possible in the absence of his regular teacher.1. Reports to the principal/school office manager upon arrival 30 minutes before the official school opening.
2. Maintains, as fully as possible, the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is assigned.
3. Teaches the lessons outlined and described in the lesson plans provided by the absent teacher.
4. Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods.
5. Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
6. Assumes all of the after-school duties of the absent teacher, up to the 8-hour duty day, as directed by the principal and/or learning director. If there are no after-school responsibilities, remain in the assigned classroom until 30 minutes after the official school closing or until dismissed by the principal or learning director.
7. Writes about work completed at the end of each teaching day, and leaves it for the regular classroom teacher.
8. Reports to the building principal/school office manager at the conclusion of the teaching day, and verifies whether or not his/her services will be required on the next teaching day.1. A Substitute Teacher's Certificate issued by the County Superintendent of Schools or a valid and appropriate teaching credential

Duty days are determined at the discretion of the administration as the need requires with a salary established by the Board of Trustees.
Evaluation:
The evaluation and assessment of performance of the substitute teacher will be conducted by the principal in accordance with the provisions of Education Code 44660-44665.
Pay Rate:
$60.00 for half day substitute/$110.00 dollars for full day Substitute.
Bonus of $250.00 dollars if substitute employee works 50 days within the school year.
Bonus of $500.00 dollars if substitute employee works 100 days within the school year.
