Role Description
As an SE3 Software Engineer, you will contribute to the build, development, and maintenance of Agent Desktop applications built on .NET (C#/WPF).
This is a hands-on individual contributor role where you will:
Own features from build through production
Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code
Collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, user-facing solutions
You will operate with growing independence, take ownership of components, and contribute to team-level engineering excellence.
About the team
The Agent Desktop team builds and operates the core tools used by eBay’s global customer support agents to deliver fast, accurate, and high-quality customer experiences. These applications are central to how agents interact with customers and internal systems, directly impacting agent productivity and customer satisfaction at scale.
What You’ll Do
Build and develop desktop applications and features using C#, .NET, and WPF
Build intuitive, efficient user-facing workflows for support agents
Connect desktop applications to backend systems through REST/SOAP APIs (JSON/XML)
Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure high-quality releases
Identify, fix, and resolve issues across UI, service integration, and performance layers
Participate in code reviews, build discussions, and Agile ceremonies
Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, QA, and global engineering teams
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and release processes
Continuously improve system reliability, maintainability, and performance

Must-Have Qualifications
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
4–8 years of software development experience
Solid background in C#, .NET, and WPF for desktop application development
Experience working with and incorporating REST/SOAP APIs (JSON/XML)
Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
Familiarity with NoSQL/document-based datastores (e.g., MongoDB, Cosmos DB, DynamoDB)
Experience with Git and modern development workflows
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with modern UI frameworks (React, Angular) and web application development
Experience with test automation and CI/CD integration
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
Experience working on customer support tools or applications and passionate about improving workflows
Exposure to performance optimization and observability practices
Experience working with or migrating to document-based/NoSQL data models
Certified Application Developer (or equivalent certification) is a plus

Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$98,000 - $173,600Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
