Role Overview
Surbana Jurong is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified professionals for the position of Chief Supervision Engineer for a proposed assignment in Uzbekistan. The role will lead construction supervision activities for irrigation water infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage construction supervision activities for irrigation water infrastructure projects.
- Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, and standards.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation.
- Ensure compliance with construction norms and standards applicable in Uzbekistan and international best practice.
- Manage contracts in accordance with FIDIC and/or similar international contract conditions.
- Monitor project progress, quality, safety, and reporting throughout construction phases.
- Provide technical leadership and ensure timely preparation of project reports and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Water Management, Hydraulic Structures, or a related discipline (professional qualifications preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including 8 years in construction supervision of irrigation networks.
- Experience working in developing countries, including at least 5 years in Central Asia.
- Familiarity with Uzbekistan construction standards or equivalent international standards.
- Proven experience in contract management and supervision under FIDIC or similar conditions.
- Excellent English proficiency, with strong reporting and computer skills; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
