iOS Team Lead, Offensive Security Researcher

Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished and collaborative Team Lead to guide an advanced offensive security research team. You will drive research strategy, foster knowledge sharing, mentor talented security researchers, and ensure the team remains at the forefront of vulnerability discovery and exploit development across cutting-edge platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead a high-performing team of offensive security researchers; conduct regular 1-on-1 video check-ins to support professional development and team wellbeing.

  • Attend leadership meetings to coordinate cross-team initiatives and align priorities.

  • Maintain regular and transparent communication through weekly and event-driven status updates, addressing achievements, challenges, team needs, and research progress.

  • Create a collaborative, innovative, and supportive team environment by encouraging documentation, knowledge sharing, and technical presentations.

  • Organize and facilitate engaging weekly team calls focused on resource sharing, brainstorming research directions, and collaboratively solving technical challenges.

  • Set technical priorities for the team, balancing current research objectives with exploration into new technologies and attack surfaces.

  • Mentor junior researchers and new hires, ensuring strong onboarding, continuous learning, and professional growth.

  • Lead technical recruitment activities, including interviewing and evaluating candidates.

  • Manage performance reviews, give ongoing constructive feedback, recommend ratings and bonuses, and communicate outcomes to leadership.

  • Plan and manage team budget, including travel, training, and conference opportunities.

Technical Research Oversight

  • Oversee and guide the identification, analysis, and exploitation of vulnerabilities across modern operating systems, kernel components, and complex software ecosystems.

  • Direct efforts in reverse engineering, proof-of-concept exploit development, and bypassing advanced security mitigations.

  • Ensure research aligns with the latest trends in attack techniques, mitigations, and emerging technologies.

  • Encourage publication of impactful research and proactive adaptation to software and security updates in the wider industry landscape.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading or mentoring technical teams in offensive security or vulnerability research.

  • Extensive track record of iOS vulnerability research and exploitation on modern devices and chipsets.

  • Strong understanding of recent iOS mitigations such as PAC, SPTM, MIE, etc

  • Advanced expertise in vulnerability discovery, reverse engineering, and exploit development within a iOS operating system or platform.

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C, C++, and low-level assembly.

  • Familiarity with industry-standard toolsets for reverse engineering and debugging.

  • Demonstrated history of impactful security research (e.g., advisories, CVEs, publications).

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and team-building skills.
