At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.
We are seeking an experienced, diligent and team-oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at The Avenue Vet on a full-time basis.
The Avenue Vets, Ealing is a modern, newly established practice located just a five-minute walk from West Ealing Station on the Elizabeth Line. The practice sits on a vibrant high street within a fast-growing area. Surrounded by new residential and commercial developments, it represents an exciting opportunity for future growth.
We have built a strong reputation for delivering personalised, preventative healthcare and high-quality veterinary treatment. The practice is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, including digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, theatre and prep areas, and an in-house Zoetis laboratory, ensuring you have everything needed to provide outstanding clinical care. Thoughtfully designed throughout, the clinic also features separate cat and dog waiting areas, a spacious consulting room, and a welcoming reception space, creating a calm and efficient environment for both clients and their pets.
You will join a small, close-knit team consisting of a receptionist (who is studying to qualify as a VCA) and a veterinary surgeon, with plans to expand as the client base grows. You’ll also benefit from the support of the Practice Manager at our sister site, Alcombe Ealing. This role is ideally suited to an experienced, confident veterinary nurse who is comfortable working independently while maintaining excellent standards of care.
How You’ll Make a Difference
We’re looking for a confident and compassionate RVN to join our busy practice. You must be comfortable working in sole charge when required, as well as being a strong team player. We are seeking someone with their own initiative – who can see what needs doing and act without constant direction.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
This role entails 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 9 am - 5:30 pm with a 30-minute break and 1:4 Saturdays 9 am - 1 pm with TOIL.
General responsibilities include:
*Nurse Consults: Confidently run your own clinics (e.g., weight checks, second vaccines, senior/wellness checks, post-op checks).
*Surgical Support: Assist the vet in the theatre – anaesthetic monitoring, prep, and scrub.
*Patient Recovery: Manage post-op recovery, hospitalised patients, and provide gold-standard nursing care.
*Sole Charge: Take responsibility for the practice during designated shifts, and help triage sick animals.
*Reception Cover: Step onto reception when needed to greet clients, answer queries, and handle phone calls/triage.
