We are looking for a General Accounting Team Leader to join our high-performing Shared Services function. This role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, while driving operational excellence and supporting team development.
You will play a key role in ensuring strong financial control, improving processes, and partnering with stakeholders across the business to provide meaningful financial insight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Oversee preparation of management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial submissions
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of accountants, driving performance and engagement
- Monitor team KPIs and ensure delivery against service levels and reporting deadlines
- Maintain a robust internal control environment and support audit and compliance activities
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Qualified (or qualified by experience) accountant with strong general accounting knowledge
- Strong people management experience. A natural leader with the ability to motivate and mentor the team where necessary
- Experience using accounting systems such as SAP and Oracle
- Experience of leveraging automation in a Finance function, or desire to do so. Forward thinking and energised by change.
