As a member of our consulting team, you will manage the design and development of long-term business strategies for consumer and retail clients in the areas of go-to-market strategy, operating model design, organizational design, and value creation in order to optimize revenue growth and organizational capability.
Specific duties include:
- Perform sophisticated market research, benchmarking, market sizing, modeling, forecasting, and decision analysis to identify growth opportunities.
- Design trade architecture strategies for consumer companies by harmonizing list prices, aligning nonworking trade terms with benchmarks and developing a dynamic performance based trade model for working trade to decide on the total trade allocation.
- Conduct belief audits with leadership teams of consumer and retail companies to identify key pain points in the organization.
- Synthesize findings and identify opportunity areas across the organization; develop detailed implementation roadmap for execution; manage complex, multi-workstream projects for consumer and retail clients by identifying dependencies across workstreams, coordinating senior client stakeholders, identifying bottlenecks and root causes, and developing solutions to deliver measurable impact.
- Manage case team responsibilities including personnel assignments, research and analysis, and reports to clients.
- Oversee and direct consultants and junior professional staff, and oversee project planning and preparation of outputs.
- Present findings to senior client management, and oversee business development and client relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, or related field (or foreign equivalent) and 3 years of experience as a Management Consultant or Business Analyst.
- Experience must include 1 year of experience delivering business strategy recommendations focused on operational efficiency and revenue growth for companies within the consumer and retail industries.
- Analyzing NetSuite and TPM data for trade management, including point-of-sale sales, trade spend (working and non-working trade), and distribution metrics, to identify opportunities to optimize trade investment effectiveness.
- Analyzing Nielsen consumption data to assess consumer purchasing trends, category and brand performance, competitive positioning, pricing dynamics, and key market trends to inform commercial and strategic decision-making.
- Developing recommendations on product assortment, price-pack architecture, and promotional strategy based on integrated analysis of consumer research, company performance, and competitive dynamics.
- Building financial and commercial models in Excel to diagnose drivers of financial underperformance, assess trade-offs across commercial levers, and quantify the size of value creation opportunities.
- Developing performance-based working trade allocation models to decide on the trade allocation based on historical retailer performance.
- Conducting consumer segmentation analyses to identify target consumers with similar shopping missions and occasions, and designing targeted opportunity levers across key growth pillars to drive revenue and profitability.
- Applying advanced economic and financial analysis theories including competitive cost and decision analysis, capabilities assessment, portfolio review based on financial reports, and experience and scale curve analysis.
- Conducting advanced analysis of scale economies, seasonal effects on financial forecasts, impact of uncertainties on business outcomes, corporate financing policies, and evaluation of factors that influence a company's debt capacity.
