Wet Finisher

POSITION PURPOSE The Wet Finisher works as a member of a team to prepare poured concrete for the curing process according to product specifications.   RESPONSIBILITIES General housekeeping and waste disposal throughout the shift. Collect and prepare materials as needed. Assist during concrete pour process as needed. Level poured concrete using bull floats, boards, or screeds. Finish product using light broom, rake, heavy broom, swirl broom, trowel machine, or other tools as appropriate. Secure or cover finished product. Clean overflow of concrete forms. Operate various types of equipment such as hoists, overhead cranes, hand, and power tools. Pour and screed beds with bed carts. Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations. Housekeeping as required to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.   SCOPE OF AUTHORITY Highly supervised Tasks are typically assigned by Wet Finish Group Leader Works as a member of a team Reporting structure varies   CHARACTERISTICS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Able to read a tape measure Able to use standard construction tools Able to read, or be trained to read, blueprints Able to work on a team Highly dependable with strong work ethic Able to understand, follow, and convey verbal instructions Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors   EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred 1-2 years of previous general construction experience preferred Experience with concrete finishing, bull floats, and trowel machines preferred                                                                                                   WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULE Sheltered, outdoor environment Work area is not climate controlled and may be exposed to changing weather and temperature conditions Schedule varies with workload and location Unscheduled overtime may be required depending on business needs   PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (PPE) Safety glasses High-visibility vest Hard hat Steel-toed shoes Hearing protection Gloves (various types)   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires standing for long periods of time, lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and bending, repetitive motion with medium force, and an ability to frequently climb up to 15 feet above ground using stairs.   Disclaimer: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
