Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill is a world-class manufacturer of precision machined aerospace components. We have an exciting opportunity for Tool Grinder/Trainee. The primary responsibilities of a Tool /Trainee is to set-up and operate a five to nine axis tool grinder in a skillful and efficient manner. Create and modify tool cutter programs for form tools on CNC cutter grinder. Set up and sharpen tools on manual grinders. Inspect form tools and document them using the Zoller.

The hourly range for this position is $20.00 – $24.00

Essential Responsibilities

• Must be educated and trained to interpret the engineering drawings and instructions to provide sharp tools for all machines in a timely manner.
• Must be able to evaluate the durability of tooling and make continuous improvements through trials of various newly available tool technologies.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or Vocational School with on-the-job training.
• Min. 5 yrs. manual / CNC cutter grinding.
• Will need to be able to learn quickly and retain what they have be shown.
• Must be flexible and capable of multi-tasking.
• Must be self-motivated and capable of working in an environment of self-motivation and discipline.
