Manufacturing Technician - Cameras
Location: Glasgow
Role: Full Time
Hours: Night Shift - 6:30/7:30 start - 9.25 hours a day - 4 day week Monday-Thursday / 37 hours per week
Due to demand we’re looking for a technician to join our team in Glasgow to Support us in the manufacturing process and test of multiple military based products. We are looking to expand the night shift.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Optical alignment and construction of optical subassemblies
Complex optical bonding using a mixture of optical adhesives
Optical handing and cleaning
Analysis of optical components using interferometers etc.
Calibration of optical subassemblies and tooling
Work in multi-disciplinary teams
About you
A good understanding of general physics
Good practical and experimental skills
Inquisitiveness – ability to question results and then answer those questions
Self-motivated and capable of working alone and within teams
Good written and oral communication skills to allow effective communication with peers, and both technical and non-technical customers.
Desirable
Knowledge of optical instruments
Knowledge of interferometry
Knowledge of mechanical engineering
Experience with opto- mechanical components and manufacture.
Optical handing and cleaning
Optical bonding

This role requires enhanced security clearance to secret (SC) level. Candidates will be required to meet the criteria and seek Defence Vetting Agency clearance, which will be sponsored by Thales. For eligibility criteria, please refer to the Defence Vetting Agency website.
