EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
- To assist in clerical duties involved with student attendance records on a daily basis in a confidential manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma/GED
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Possess appropriate typing skills for keyboarding.
EXPERIENCE:
- None
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Make and receive telephone calls, take messages, and route calls.
- Oversee student sign in/sign out sheet.
- Verify with students discrepancies on attendance report.
- Enter documentation on student attendance records concerning doctor or parent comments etc. into the computer on a daily basis.
- Respond to inquiries from students, teachers, and parents regarding attendance rules, absences, suspensions, and enrollment status.
- Compile and submit a variety of weekly, monthly and year end reports as required.
- Email Mesquite Intervention Center (MIC) each day for students.
- Print bi-weekly attendance letters for unexcused absences.
- Types, prepares, distributes, files records/reports, correspondence etc. related to attendance.
- Complete appropriate court paperwork concerning student absenteeism for assistant principal.
- Assist school secretary with maintaining teacher supplies and copy machine upkeep.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Mental Demands:
- Reading and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Writing simple correspondence and effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Interacting with the public and other staff and occasionally meeting multiple demands from several people.
- Dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical demands/environmental factors:
- Prolonged sitting, talking, and hearing.
- Occasional walking and standing.
- Reaching with hands and arms and frequently repeating the same hand, arm or finger motion.
- Acceptable noise level in the work environment.
