THE ROLE 
You will be joining our highly skilled Future Technologies, Optical Engineering team to develop solutions for new laser systems and research projects. You will be working on various laser and optoelectronics technologies, utilising elements of NKTP's existing products and evaluating new technologies to incorporate into NKTP's technology roadmap. Main responsibilities may include but not limited to General Product/Process Research Science and is focused on scientific research, development, and testing of new products, processes, and raw materials .The daily work may be in close collaboration with the other departments across optical, electronic, and mechanical teams, as well as with external project partners from industry and academia. 

Personal skills we seek

  • Be responsible for own work and self-driven in daily work 
  • Enjoy working closely with experts in optics, electronics, and mechanical for design and problem solving
  • Able to take ownership of project work packages ensuring timely delivery and reporting when needed

    Relevant technical skills 

  • PhD in Optics or similar preferred
  • Laser design theory - ideally in fiber
  • Experience with laser feedback and control
  • Laser lab experience - e.g. free-space optics alignment, testing and measurement
  • Optical system modelling - e.g. split-step GNLSE, rate-equation-based amplifier modelling
  • Familiarity with Python, Matlab, and MS Office tools 
  • English (written and spoken)
