Lead, HR Quality and Compliance
Location: Hyderabad
This is an office‑first role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and team alignment, enabling us to deliver our best work. You will work primarily in the office, with the flexibility to work remotely for 40% of your time (two days per week)
Intro summary of the role
This role is responsible for ensuring full statutory and regulatory compliance across HR, Payroll, and Talent Acquisition functions. The individual will proactively monitor legislative changes, implement necessary process updates, and partner with Legal, Finance, and HR Operations teams to manage compliance risk. The role also drives continuous improvement of payroll and TA processes while supporting audits, system enhancements, and key performance reporting. Strong stakeholder management and ownership of complex compliance issues are central to this position

What you will do
To ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, financial regulations or any other instructions in regard to HR, Payroll and Talent Acquisition (where applicable).
Identify and implement changes to ensure that the Talent Acquisition and Payroll service is compliant, to current legislation, financial regulations, company policy and Labour Law and Agreements (CBA) as applicable to role
Proactively monitor compliance changes in respective countries and provide compliance updates to HR Operations & delivery teams, stakeholders and create/deliver communication plan to update impacted parties liaising with Lonza Legal team where required
Whilst ensuring compliance and management of risk to always have the workforce experience at the heart of processes
Ensure deadlines are met for statutory returns and payments where applicable.
Continuous improvement of payroll related processes & controls including business continuity plans, approaches to delivering a modern payroll function, simplification of legacy approaches.
Continuous improvement of talent acquisition processes & controls including business continuity plans, approaches to delivering a modern talent acquisition function, simplification of legacy approaches.
Work closely with finance colleagues for monthly and period payroll-related activities including reconciliations, maintenance of control accounts as applicable within HR, payroll and Talent Acquisition.
Leading audits that impact HR Operations and Delivery with support from wider team
Manage ad-hoc projects.
Take ownership of complex and technical issues and queries related to compliance and risk control.
Advise the team and wider stakeholders on options and risks for a range of business decisions from a compliance and risk capacity perspective related to change.
Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
To gather, analyse and provide the relevant details in support of performance indicators and targets as and when required i.e. TA/WFA/payroll performance quality and accuracy
To provide appropriate management information as and when required.
To assist in the development and implementation of TA, HR & Pay systems and their longer-term development as required to support simplification of compliance and risk control.
To ensure periodic statutory deductions from pay are properly reconciled and returns completed by the due date.
Interacts and works closely with other HR Operations teams and the wider HR Community to deliver best in practice services to the Business and GPO.
What we are looking for
3+ years of experience in HR, Payroll, or Talent Acquisition compliance, with a strong understanding of statutory requirements, financial regulations, and Labour Law/CBA.
Proven experience identifying and implementing compliance changes in line with evolving legislation and company policy.
Experience ensuring statutory returns, payments, and periodic deductions are reconciled and submitted within deadlines.
Strong process improvement mindset, with experience supporting continuous improvement, business continuity planning, and system simplification initiatives.
Experience supporting or leading audits, with the ability to take ownership of complex, technical compliance and risk-related issues.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to advise teams and partners on compliance and risk implications, while maintaining a workforce-first approach.
