THE JOB

Morton Amphitheater in Riverside, MO is seeking a part-time Payroll Specialist to manage onboarding and payroll for production crew. This person must be a self-motivated individual with the ability to multitask. This is a part-time, seasonal position, requiring work on both event and non-event days, including nights and weekends. Scheduled hours will vary depending on business needs and may be scheduled up to 30+ hours per week during peak season.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Develop and implement onboarding strategies for union stagehands and seasonal production staff in Workday 

  • Create and maintain partnerships with union employees and representatives, providing ongoing communication for onboarding requirements while promoting a positive experience

  • Analyze and interpret Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBAs) to ensure organizational compliance

  • Serve as subject matter expert on union contract interpretation and implementation regarding payroll  

  • Oversee payroll accuracy by analyzing Stewards Reports against CBA requirements 

  • Process and maintain payroll records in payroll system, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions, often within 48 hours of a show for accurate reporting

  • Recommend process improvements to ensure 100% accuracy between ABI timekeeping system and union reporting 

  • Serve as on-site production liaison, exercising judgment to resolve operational challenges  

  • Provide strategic guidance to ensure annual wage increases are properly implemented across systems  

  • Other duties requiring independent judgment and decision-making authority as assigned 

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING 

  • Two to four years comparable work experience 

  • Flexible availability (days/nights, late hours, weekends, and holidays) 

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to work against deadlines.

  • Must possess superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills 

  • High School Diploma 

  • Previous experience with ABIMM (TMSS) preferred, or 2+ years with a similar timekeeping system 

  • High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel 

  • Working knowledge of Workday and ADP Payroll platforms preferred 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • College degree in a related field preferred 

Physical Demands/Working Environment: 

  • Working environment is fast-paced and often loud

  • Must be able to work in an indoor and outdoor environment in various types of weather

  • Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels

  • Must be proficient in communicating with all types of personalities in a professional manner

  • Position requires sitting, typing, walking and occasionally lifting 25 lbs. plus using proper lifting techniques
