LCH Operations sits at the heart of the organisation, providing wide-ranging services to internal and external customers across all asset classes.  The division operates globally across several pillars of service, including Securities Operations, SwapClear and Listed Rates Operations, Onboarding Operations, Collateral Management, Client Services, Regulatory Reporting, and Market Data.  We partner with internal and external customers to proactively deliver compelling, resilient, and competitive CCP Operations that minimise risks and maximise returns through flexible, timely and innovative engagement.

Role description

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join LCH Ltd Operations in the role of Manager, Onboarding Operations, located in Manila.  Manila is a new location LCH launched back in 2024 to support our growing business, in addition to the existing locations of London, New York, Sydney and Singapore.  All our offices work closely together as a single team.

The Onboarding team is the single point of contact for members and clients during the onboarding process and has the ultimate responsibility of ensuring a positive experience at LCH across the different services we operate.  The role holder will lead and empower a team of externally facing onboarding specialists who handle new member, client, and investment counterparty set-up.   The individual will ensure all business requirements and key timelines are met, including obtaining appropriate governance approvals, fulfilment of legal and due diligence obligations, systems and new account set-up.  The role also encompasses participating in key projects to achieve service level targets and department objectives.  The successful candidate will be able to handle a high level of complexity in a client facing environment.

The role has specific responsibility for handling member and client onboarding for the following clearing services: EquityClear, ForexClear, RepoClear, SwapClear, FMX and SwapAgent. The team also handle investment counterparty set-up, supporting the Collateral and Liquidity Management Front Office.

Key responsibilities of the role:

You can expect to lead the Onboarding Operations team in Manilla, in the following areas:

  • Leads all aspects of the end-to-end onboarding process for new members, clients and investment counterparties, with a focus on efficiency, control and excellent client service.

  • Overall control of member and client data to ensure its accuracy at both onboarding and throughout the life of the relationship.  Understands the knock-on effects of data changes across different internal systems.

  • Supervises network management responsibilities, including inbound due diligence requests, KYC requests and annual membership requirements.

  • Provides expert troubleshooting and applies subject matter expertise to resolve member / client issues or incidents.  Effectively collaborates across teams to ensure successful and properly communicated outcomes.

  • Collaborates effectively with business partners on all aspects impacting member / client onboarding, including but not limited to sales pipeline, strategic plans, product design, legal and compliance requirements.

  • Coordinates changes to membership / client requirements, including KYC regulations, communications, procedures and checklists, including procedures in place with other teams and third parties.

  • Coaches staff to ensure accurate delivery of services and solutions. Creates a high-performance culture by leading effectively, differentiating performance, developing talent, and building diverse teams. 

  • Creates and implements tools, processes and working practices to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of staff and delivery of best-in-class service.

  • Keen competence on risk and controls, processes and procedures, to ensure LCH delivers value to our members and clients in a robust and compliant manner.

  • Drives a continuous improvement mind-set with a strong focus on best practise / process excellence and risk mitigation, supported by precise and relevant management information for senior colleagues. 

  • Leads or participates in key change projects to improve service levels and meet departmental objectives.

Essential experience and skills required:

  • Strong demonstrable experience in a client-facing role in either an FMI or financial services firm.

  • Previous people management experience with demonstrated ability to develop self and others.

  • Highly methodical with strong interest in Onboarding, Compliance, KYC and Due Diligence.

  • Analytical mind-set with problem solving skills and ability to work under limited supervision.

  • Work collaboratively and build effective relationships with other teams.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Able to effectively troubleshoot and manage multiple priorities.

  • Positive, collaborative and forward thinking.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Some knowledge of central clearing beneficial.
