Position Overview
AST SpaceMobile is seeking a highly organized and hands-on Kitting / Outbound Supervisor to oversee daily kitting operations, material staging activities, and outbound logistics functions supporting manufacturing operations across production facilities. This role will be responsible for ensuring production teams receive accurate and timely material kits, managing outbound shipment processes, maintaining inventory movement accuracy, and supporting efficient material flow throughout the manufacturing process.
The Kitting / Outbound Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring production continuity by coordinating material preparation, inventory transactions, outbound shipments, and warehouse execution activities that directly support manufacturing schedules and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day kitting operations to ensure timely and accurate preparation of production kits supporting manufacturing and assembly operations.
- Manage outbound warehouse activities including shipment preparation, packaging, labeling, staging, and coordination of outbound deliveries.
- Ensure production teams receive complete and accurate material kits in alignment with production schedules and work order requirements.
- Oversee material movement processes between warehouse operations, inventory storage locations, and production floor workstations.
- Coordinate closely with Production Scheduling, Planning, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to prioritize material readiness based on production demand.
- Monitor inventory accuracy associated with kitting activities, material consumption, inventory transactions, and outbound shipments.
- Manage work order material allocation processes to ensure proper material issuance against active production orders.
- Lead outbound logistics processes supporting internal transfers, vendor shipments, and movement of production-critical hardware and materials.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, missing materials, incorrect kit contents, and material shortages impacting production operations.
- Develop and maintain standardized kitting procedures to improve accuracy, reduce material handling errors, and improve production readiness.
- Supervise warehouse personnel, material handlers, and kitting technicians while ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures.
- Track operational performance metrics including kit accuracy rates, material delivery timing, inventory discrepancies, shipment turnaround times, and warehouse productivity.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on warehouse efficiency, material flow optimization, and reduction of production downtime caused by material availability issues.
- Maintain compliance with company inventory control procedures, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational protocols.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent operational experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environments may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience
- 4+ years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics, or manufacturing support functions.
- 2+ years of direct supervisory experience managing warehouse, logistics, or material handling teams.
- Experience supporting kitting operations, production material staging, or manufacturing inventory control processes.
- Strong background working with inventory management systems and warehouse execution processes.
- Experience supporting manufacturing environments with production order-driven material demand.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in aerospace, satellite manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, automotive, or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), or inventory tracking platforms.
- Experience supporting production environments requiring high inventory accuracy and rapid material movement.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and warehouse process optimization.
- Experience managing outbound shipping, logistics coordination, and internal material transfer processes.
- Understanding of production work orders, bill of materials (BOM), and manufacturing material allocation processes.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in warehouse, manufacturing, and industrial operational environments.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while overseeing warehouse and material movement operations.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Ability to regularly inspect warehouse operations, staging areas, and outbound shipment processes.
- Ability to operate in fast-paced manufacturing environments with changing operational priorities.
- Ability to work near material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse machinery while maintaining safety compliance.
