We plan a 42% absolute reduction in scope 1 emissions by calendar year 2030 (CY30) compared to the CY20 baseline. We are also working toward 75% water conservation through reuse, recycling, and restoration by CY30. Micron has committed to investing approximately $1 billion by 2028 to support these environmental goals.
About the Role
The Global Sustainability Operations (Senior/Staff) Program Manager will direct the strategy, delivery, and governance of sustainability initiatives, prioritizing on water conservation and sustainability cost management across operating locations. This role is responsible for converting long-term sustainability objectives into near-term execution plans, driving cross-functional alignment, improving financial and reporting rigor, and providing clear decision support to executive leadership.
Candidate requires close collaboration with manufacturing, facilities, sustainability, and finance partners. The ideal candidate has strong skills in program management, analytics, financial-sustainability value creation, and engaging with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1)Program Strategy, Execution and Water Conversation Program Management
- Lead sustainability program short term planning and implementation, with key focus on water conservation and sustainability cost management
- Develop short-term strategies and targets aligned to long-term sustainability goals.
- Build and manage governance mechanisms, reporting cadence, and performance visibility across operating sites
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance program efficiency, governance, reporting quality, and execution effectiveness.
- Leverage digital tools, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled approaches where appropriate to improve data flow, forecasting, reporting, and support decision-making
- Partner with site and global teams to improve water performance and expand program impact
- Support compliance, audit readiness, and data assurance across relevant programs
- Present recommendations, progress updates, and arguments to executive leadership
- Drive process improvement, digitalization, and automation opportunities to enhance sustainability operations
- Coordinate external consultants, auditors, and relevant stakeholders when needed
2) Sustainability Cost Program Management
- Manage sustainability cost control, including CAPEX/OPEX forecasting, budgeting, tracking, reporting, modeling, and performance assurance.
- Build and maintain cost models to support sustainability investment planning and reason development through alignment with global finance.
- Partner with relevant teams to evaluate project economics, validate assumptions, and support capital justification processes.
- Improve access to sustainability-related investments and expenditures through robust financial tracking and reporting mechanisms.
- Support executive-level decision-making by providing clear financial insights, trade-off analysis, and investment recommendations.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Management, Manufacturing, Facilities, or a related field
- At least 2 years’ experience in facilities engineering, manufacturing, process operations, sustainability operations, or similar industrial environments
- Strong program management skills with the ability to lead initiatives across functions and sites
- Experience in budgeting, financial modeling, CAPEX/OPEX tracking, and developing a strong argument for projects
- Strong analytical, reporting, and dashboarding skills
- Experience with Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Familiarity with SAP, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise tools is advantageous
- Strong communication and collaborator management skills, including executive-level presentation capability
- Experience in sustainability reporting, compliance, or audit support is preferred
- Exposure to AI, automation, or digitalization in operational environments is an added advantage
Travel:
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (10% at times).
