Material Handler - Seasonal Term Contract (April/May - September 2026)

Are you open to working part-time up to full-time hours during our busy Spring/Summer season for 2026? This includes open availability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.

The service that we offer customers includes ensuring that our product displays are safe and easy to shop. We assist customers with picking and loading their products. To offer these services, we need associates who enjoy manual handling and physical work. 

Contract duration: April/May to September 2026 - may vary based on business needs.

As a Contract Associate at KENT, you will warmly welcome and interact with customers to thoroughly understand their needs and help them choose the right products for their projects. Whether you are on the Sales Floor or in the Lumber Yard, delivering exceptional customer service is our top priority as the leading home improvement destination in Atlantic Canada!

• Approach interactions and learning opportunities with a curious mindset.
• Take initiative and confidently guide customer interactions.
• Complete product knowledge training and stay informed about current sales and promotions.
• Maintain inventory, replenish stock, and ensure the yard is clean and organized.
• Load and unload materials, with heavy lifting required.
• Work outside in all weather conditions. 
• Prioritize safety in all tasks.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player.
• Self-motivated and proactive in serving customers.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and be cross trained in other departments.
• High attention to detail.
• CSA-approved steel-toed footwear required while on shift.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Flexible availability to work days, evenings, and weekends (rotating shifts).
• Must be at least 16 years old.
