Boardcutter Operator

We are looking for a Boardcutter Operator to join our team at Lakeside Book Company. As the largest bookmaker in the United States, you will help move the finished product out the door and into the hands of readers across the country. No experience necessary!  We will provide you with all the training you need to be successful. Advancement opportunities are available!Starting Rate: $19.15 Hours: Dayshift - Hours are negotiableLocation: 2347 Kratzer Rd; Harrisonburg, VA 22802 and 1025 Willow Springs Rd; Harrisonburg, VA 22801  As our Boardcutter Operator, you will: Efficiently produce book parts Function in a team environment Perform all duties in adherence with safety guidelines and procedures Accuracy and maintenance of various records, reports, and paperwork Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned Qualifications: Ability to lift and carry 20-50 pounds Ability to stand for the duration of your shift Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills Ability to comprehend and interpret written and verbal instructions with limited supervision Basic computer and math skills Consistent work experience Machine experience preferred, but not required At Lakeside Book Company, we value craftsmanship and collaboration by encouraging employees to improve their skills and capabilities.  To that end, in addition to meeting the qualification requirements for this position, preference will be given to candidates who agree to participate in cross-training which includes achieving qualified status within the position and assuming responsibility as a back-up to lateral and progressive roles, as needed.
