Duties/Responsibilities:
Assess physical, mental, and psychosocial status of patient using age-appropriate knowledge.
Plans, evaluates and supervises care of all patients assigned.
Participates in working towards and fulfilling the charge nurse roll.
Works collaboratively with other disciplines in care of patients.
Competent to be the primary RN in the various cardiovascular tests/procedures done within the department.
Participates in formal and informal educational programs to improve technical skills.
Responsible for continued learning and application to practice.
Synthesizes patient care information to formulate appropriate nursing diagnosis.
Responsible to provide patient and family education.
Work practice reflects philosophy purpose and policies of the hospital and department.
Explain procedure to patient (and family, if appropriate).
Prepare patient for test.
Participates in pre, intra and post procedural monitoring (VS, EKG's, hemodynamics).
Reinforces instructions given by M.D.
Competent to administer moderate sedation.
Identifies possible medication reactions and responds appropriately.
Assures that equipment and supplies are available as needed.
Assists in booking tests/procedures.
Participates in pre procedural process which may include but not be limited to chart preparation and telephone interview of the patient.
Minimum Requirements:
Current Massachusetts RN License
AHA ACLS and BLS Certified
Experience in Procedural Sedation
1 year current Interventional Cath Lab experience required
Knowledge and operation of Cath Lab Hemodynamic Monitoring, Proficient in documenting in McKesson
Cardiovascular procedural experience including diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures, devices related electrophysiology procedures, transesophageal echocardiograms, cardioversions and nuclear stress testing
Can immediately perform STEMI call
Excellent communication skills; ability to critically think and work in a fast-paced clinically challenging and dynamic setting; ability work in a team; collaborative
Strongly Preferred Requirements:
BSN or working towards
Critical Care or Emergency department experience; CCRN Certification
Evidence of strong preceptor and mentoring abilities

Pay Range:
$37.14 - $82.22This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
