Job Description


Responsibilities

The Genetic Counselor works with the Norton Medical Group Genetic Counseling Services practice. General responsibilities include:• Collaborates with Norton Healthcare providers and service lines to evaluate and provide comprehensive genetic counseling to patients;• Participates in all aspects of the Genetic Counseling Services including patient care, research, community outreach, and education;• Provides timely documentation in electronic medical record systems and communicates results effectively to patients and referring providers as needed;• Provides regular input and ideas for programmatic and personal growth and development;• Participates in departmental meetings;• Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Must have hospital and/or payer credentialing completed before functioning in this role.
  • Master Degree
  • Certified Genetic Counselor Must obtain Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) credential within 12 months of hire. AND One of: LGC or TLGC

Desired:

  • One year genetic counseling
  • Licensed Genetic Counselor OR Temporary Licensed Genetic Counselor
