Job Description: As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely posting and payment of invoices. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to kick-start their career in accounting. You will work closely with our accounting team to process invoices, reconcile vendor accounts, and assist with other tasks.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently
- Match invoices with purchase orders
- Verify invoice accuracy, including proper authorization and coding
- Prepare and perform weekly check runs
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies
- Assist with month-end close procedures as needed
- Provide support to the accounting team with ad-hoc projects and tasks
Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment
- Prior experience in accounts payable or general accounting is a plus, but not required
