Job Description
Position Summary: The I&E Engineer provides the facility with all maintenance services ensuring work is planned and scheduled in a manner that maximizes maintenance efficiency and ensures the most economical and safe utilization of manpower and materials on a day-to-day operation as well as long-range. Additionally, plan and oversee installation and maintenance of instrumentation and electrical systems in the plant and provide direct supervision for I/E technicians/contractors. Master knowledge of distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, computer applications and power system studies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide facility with both routine and emergency maintenance services to meet plant’s needs. Supporting the development and application of mechanical integrity, preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure equipment and unit reliability
Ensure effective work planning and scheduling to maximize efficiency, minimize costs and manage priorities
Manages and supports Digital Control Systems (DCS) operations and maintenance
Ensure maintenance personnel are adequately trained
Assure the soundness of principles and design of electrical/instrumentation systems for reliability and maintainability
Supervise the electrical/instrumentation function of the department to assure effective and reliable maintenance by personnel
Plan and coordinate mechanical and electrical/instrumentation work during turnarounds for efficient maintenance of equipment on time and within budget
Supervise mechanical and electrical/instrumentation job planning to insure safe, efficient job plans with all necessary tools and equipment
Identify and propose mechanical and electrical/instrumentation projects to improve reliability of equipment and systems
Develop guidelines for, and aid in, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical/instrumentation systems to enhance the effectiveness of maintenance with reliable and uniform procedures
Aid other engineers in project development and installation to reduce startup problems
Work in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner consistent with government regulations and adhering to all Company policies and procedures, while following industry acceptable work practices
Handling multiple priorities expeditiously
Training mechanical and electrical/instrumentation personnel
Maintaining and/or creating accurate documentation of mechanical and electrical/instrumentation systems
Basic Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical /Electronic Engineering Technology
3-5 years of experience in chemical plant
Additional Qualifications:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
SAP experience
Computer modeling experience
The expected base pay for this position is $90,000 - $125,000
