CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT
RFNOW Inc. | Virden, MB
RFNOW Inc. is looking for an experienced Construction Superintendent to provide leadership, oversight, and operational coordination across our fiber optic construction projects in MB and SK. In this role, you'll keep multiple crews aligned, resources flowing, and projects on schedule — while championing a culture of safety and continuous improvement in the field.
General Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities across multiple construction sites to ensure quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery
- Provide technical guidance and solutions to the Construction Management team
- Ensure materials, equipment, and labour are properly allocated across work crews and that daily production goals are met
- Deliver timely field updates on work progression to management
- Coordinate with permitting and licensing bodies for track crossings, pipeline crossings, safety watches, locates, and required approvals
- Promote a strong safety culture through mentorship, Toolbox meetings, Safety Memo communication, and strict incident reporting (near misses, property damage, injuries, environmental events) before end of shift
- Support the training, onboarding, and evaluation of new employees
- Oversee allocation, use, and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment
- Complete daily reports and associated administration
- Conduct yourself in accordance with RFNOW Inc. policies and procedures at all times
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5 years of underground or field construction experience required
- Class 5 driver's licence required (Class 1 or 3 is an asset)
- Strong knowledge of ground disturbance practices and WPSH codes and legislation
- Experience with utility locates and working around existing utilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage labour, equipment, and resources for fiber optic cable installation
- Supervisory experience and telecom industry knowledge are strong assets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Comfortable spending the majority of the workday on your feet
- Willingness to travel Monday–Friday throughout MB and SK
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
