The Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) Senior Procurement Analyst for Mexico supports the procurement needs of our Mexico City office. This position is a key business partner to all of the different divisions of WBD that are located in our Mexico market as well as our growing capability center that services all of WBD Americas. He/she is well versed in conducting business in the Mexican marketplace including the norms, pricing, country economic environment, contract obligations, and the taxation and registration of companies doing business in Mexico. He/she proactively partners with all of the different lines of business in Mexico as well as our capability center. This role covers a variety of categories such as marketing goods and services, IT hardware, technology services, film and TV production and distribution. The role partners with our global category managers based in the US and is expected to align to global strategies where possible and adapt them to the local Mexican marketplace as needed. Mexico represents $50M in third party spend and contributes to business success and revenue growth. Warner Bros Discovery Sr Procurement Analyst reports to the Procurement Manager for Mexico, Andean, Central America and the Caribbean.
Job Responsibilities
Stakeholder/Internal Customer Management
Partners with internal clients for alignment of business priorities across multiple sourcing categories and be the conduit/liaison on behalf of global sourcing team.
Provides internal procurement expertise to the business in the practice of strategic sourcing, best practices, and external marketplace or innovative trends.
Builds effective relationships to enable fast action
Participates in the team meetings of the lines of business, educates them on procurement policy and approach, and remains attentive to their needs
Category Management
Contributes the view point of the Mexico marketplace to global category strategies and is able to speak to the economic environment in Mexico and how it impacts procurement
Implements global category strategies in Mexico and tailors them to the local marketplace. (sole source or short-list negotiations, leverage added scope, competitive bidding, eSourcing tools, catalogs, reverse auctions, etc.).
Accountable for the delivery of category savings targets through collaboration and engagement with business stakeholders.
Serves as key procurement lead on projects, bring procurement expertise and project management to projects and instills a sense of confidence in the business that this role is an expert in procurement and will drive the process
Develops and compiles business requirements for new ideals, including execution of Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Request for Proposals (RFP).
Supplier Selection/Management
Uses depth of knowledge of suppliers in Mexico and in the wider Latin America marketplace as needed, to gain insights which are not obvious nor widely held that improve WBD’s competitive advantage.
Partners with Supplier Diversity efforts to creatively include diverse vendors in supplier selection processes and creatively grow existing diverse vendor spend.
Leads environmentally friendly purchase efforts to support WBD’s sustainability efforts.
Negotiations, Contract Creation & Management
Leads and develops multi-pronged negotiation strategies, contract analyses, and sourcing communications and meetings.
Collaborates with stakeholders and local legal counsel to lead negotiations and contract coordination to ensure all geography-specific requirements are captured.
Views new and existing opportunities from different angles to identify fresh and original ways of tapping those opportunities to get maximum return.
Sourcing-Driven Project Management
Identifies, implements, and manages projects across business units in Mexico and at times may expand to the Andean, Central America and the Caribbean
Identifies opportunities where project management expertise needs to be implemented and works to ensure that those involved in key projects are managing them optimally.
JOB QUALIFICATION
Work Experience
Required: 3-5 years experience in procurement and strategic sourcing
Required: Experience conducting business in Mexico (nice to have: wider experience in the Andean, Central America and Caribbean)
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, operations, engineering, supply chain management or similar focus.
Required Languages: Fluent Spanish and Proficient English (Nice to have: Fluent English)
Professional accreditation in procurement viewed favorably
Knowledge/Skills
- Focus on teamwork and cross functional collaboration
High level of organization skills and attention to detail
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders, in a concise and clear manner
Ability to function effectively in a matrixed organization
Ability to assemble cross-functional teams that are focused on specific procurement projects
Understanding of the supplier landscape across major categories of spend;
Demonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience,
Excellent Spanish language written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize complex and technical information into concise and clear manner. Proficient English to read and write e-mail to WBD employees and suppliers (Nice to have: Fluent English)
Nice to have: Experience with procurement and accounting systems: SAP, Ariba, SpendHQ, Workday Strategic Sourcing
