Job Description

 

The Risk Manager, Travel will report directly to the Head of Risk, Travel and will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient risk management processes and procedures are implemented and maintained in accordance with the Allianz Partners Global risk management framework, as well as regulations in force. They will collaborate closely with first and second line of defense leaders across the company to ensure timely and transparent identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks as well as to ensure that the internal control system is effectively integrated within their areas of responsibility.

This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to Allianz Partners' Global Risk Programs, with the potential to lead local and global initiatives based on your experience. The ideal candidate brings solid relevant work experience and a deep understanding of both specialized and broader business topics. This role functions with a high degree of autonomy, requiring minimal supervision. The Risk Manager analyzes and resolves complex problems that may not have clear precedents, drawing on their expertise. Additionally, this role involves overseeing work area specific support teams and key stakeholders to ensure that processes and procedures are executed effectively.

 

 

What you do 

 

  • Oversee, coordinate and lead Risk management topics, including topics across global locations as required.
  • Act as key point of contact for Risk topics across the UK & Ireland (UKI) & Nordics & Baltics business units, monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of risk management activities.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of the business and liaise closely with management. Promote a positive Risk Culture within the business.
  • Facilitate the Risk management process and provision of Risk Program management (this includes among others, the Top Risk Assessment, Operational Risk Event Capture, and Non Financial Risk Management), monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of risk management activities.
  • Provide support for internal control programs and projects designed to identify and manage significant risks related between others to: Financial Reporting, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance and Operations.
  • Analyze incident trends and produce risk MI
  • Support the assessment, management, monitoring and reporting of business unit and global business operations risks, leveraging research and industry trends where applicable.
  • Support with annual review and update to the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) - UK branch report.
  • Support identification and review of tail scenarios applicable to the Lob insurance business.
  • Maintain and update risk registers, control libraries, action tracking and committee papers as applicable.
  • Support with organization and presentation of 2LoD Risk materials and opinions in the business unity and other Lob / global meetings as required.
  • Provide advice, opinions and independent challenge to 1LoD Risk & Control Officers and Risk Owners in line with approved risk appetite (inc. strategy, product changes and major projects).​ Communications include the delivery of risk management training.

 

What you bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent combination of work and education experience.
  • Risk Management or internal control accreditation or Accounting or Auditing qualification.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience and demonstrated Risk Management Skills.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of UK PRA/FCA regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead independently and drive risk culture across the business and engage with sr. leaders across Az Partners business.
  • Knowledge of best practices and trends in Enterprise Risk Management and internal control frameworks.
  • Relevant quantitative skills enabling review of exposures across all risk categories.
  • Understanding of risk based capital and insurance solvency requirements is a plus.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • You work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data, analytics and cloud-based tools, using insights responsibly with our standards of data governance, security and ethical use.
