The Role  The Multnomah Athletic Club (MAC) is seeking a Youth Programs Infant Lead. As a Youth Programs Team Member, you’ll help create a warm, safe, and enjoyable space where children can grow, learn, and play. From setting up bounce houses to organizing art projects, your role will bring out the best in both kids and yourself!  Role Specifics: This lead will be working in our drop in daycare space with families who have children infant to six years old with a primary focus for children under 1 years old. This position is part-time, with the opportunity to get up to 40 hours depending on availability outside of the scheduled shift times. Must be available Monday-Friday during the hours of 8:30 - 2:30 p.m.   What You'll Do  Create a Safe & Fun Environment: Provide a clean, safe, and engaging space for children. You'll maintain order, supervise play, and ensure that everyone is enjoying their time while following all safety regulations.  Interact with Kids & Parents: Greet children and their parents, ensuring smooth transitions for kids as they arrive and depart. Your friendly attitude will help make both parents and children feel welcome and comfortable.  Lead Fun Activities: Plan and execute exciting activities like games, arts and crafts, storytelling, and imaginative play. You’ll engage children in both individual and group activities.  Child Care Duties: Tending to children's hygiene needs, including diapering and assisting with meals, while maintaining a high standard of care and compassion.  Set Up & Clean Up: Prepare play areas, craft supplies, and large equipment like bounce houses. You’ll also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining these areas throughout the day.  Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe play environment, ensuring that all equipment is set up properly and that the children follow the rules. You'll intervene when necessary to prevent or address any misbehavior. What You'll Bring  Passion for Working with Children: Experience working with children in a recreational or academic environment is preferred, but your enthusiasm and ability to form positive relationships with kids is what really matters.  Customer Service Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact effectively with parents, children, and other staff members.  Reliability & Consistency: Dependable attendance is key, and you’ll always show up with a positive, friendly attitude.  Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry children up to 60 lbs. and manage large equipment. You’ll spend time on your feet, playing, cleaning, and ensuring safety in an energetic environment.  Attention to Detail & Safety: You’ll need to follow the safety procedures strictly and identify any hazards to keep the space safe for everyone.  Work Environment: Comfortable working in an active gym environment with exposure to loud noise.
