Job Description

Join our team as a Qualified OSHC Educator in the Bunbury area.

This is a 6-month fixed-term, part-time opportunity offering a minimum of 20 hours per week, with additional hours potentially available based on service attendance and during Holiday Program periods.

You’ll be joining a busy and growing OSHC service with an average attendance of around 50 children per session. The program operates across multiple indoor and outdoor spaces, so we’re looking for someone who is confident, organised, and passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children.

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced Educator who is looking to build meaningful relationships with children, families, the school community and the wider OSHC team. For the right person, there may also be future opportunities to step up into an Acting or Step-Up Coordinator role in 2027.

The service operates across the following hours:

  • Rise then Shine: 7:00am – 9:00am
  • Stay and Play: 2:30pm – 6:00pm
  • Holiday Program: 7:00am - 9:00am

About you

You’ll bring experience in OSHC or another education and care setting, along with a strong understanding of compliance, child safeguarding, behaviour support and inclusive practice.

You’ll also be confident supporting a diverse group of children, including children with additional and support needs, and able to contribute to a high-quality program that supports the ongoing growth of the service.

To be successful, you’ll need:

  • A relevant approved qualification
  • Full availability Monday to Thursday as a minimum
  • Experience in OSHC or education and care, ideally in a busy service environment
  • Strong supervision and organisational skills
  • Confidence supporting inclusive practice and positive behaviour guidance

If you’re a qualified Educator looking for a fixed-term role with stability, variety and future growth potential, we’d love to hear from you!

Why this role is perfect for students & casual educators:

  • Build genuine relationships with children and families at one consistent service
  • Gain hands-on experience working with primary school-aged children
  • Develop leadership, communication, and behaviour management skills
  • Great pathway into teaching, education support, psychology, social work, and childcare careers
  • Casual loading, split shift allowances, and referral bonuses
  • Extra holiday program hours during term breaks
  • Career progression opportunities from Educator to Coordinator and beyond
  • Full training and ongoing support provided — no OSHC experience required
  • We're approved for the Early Childhood Education and Care Grant
  • A genuine passion for working with children.
  • A team player with aspirations to grow and learn in the role
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a national police check (which we will cover!)
  • State working-with-children check.
  • Australian working rights.
  • National Child Safety Training completion prior to onboarding (via Gecko)
  • WA First Qualified Educator - Have completed a relevant qualification to work as a First Qualified Educator in WA in accordance with ACECQA
