Director of Staff Development (DSD)
Whitney Oaks Care Center | Rocklin, CA
Pay: $45–$48/hour
Whitney Oaks Care Center is looking for a Director of Staff Development (DSD) to join our team!
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping others succeed. As our DSD, you'll play a key role in developing and supporting our clinical team through education, training, and ongoing professional development. Your work will directly impact the quality of care we provide and help create a positive, supportive environment for both staff and residents.

What You'll Do
- Coordinate and oversee staff education, orientation, and ongoing training programs
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility training requirements
- Plan, develop, and conduct in-service education programs
- Support onboarding and mentorship of new employees
- Maintain training records and documentation
- Monitor staff competencies and provide coaching as needed
- Assist with regulatory surveys and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify educational needs and performance improvement opportunities
- Foster a culture of learning, teamwork, and excellence in resident care
Qualifications
- Current California RN or LVN license in good standing
- Long-term care or skilled nursing experience required
- Previous staff development, education, leadership, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to skilled nursing facilities
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping others grow professionally
- Ability to work independently while building strong relationships with staff at all levels
