RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Lead Computed Tomography (CT) & X-Ray Technologist to join our team. As a Lead Computed Tomography (CT) & X-Ray Technologist, you will be responsible for providing leadership and supervision to technologists in assigned modality and for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. This role provides ongoing support and enhances the overall team by acting as a resource for new and long-term team members. Taking a patient centered approach, the Lead CT & X-Ray Technologist provides CT & X-Ray services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week on a Monday–Friday day shift schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(80%) Patient CT & X-Ray Imaging
- Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
- Explains and prepares patients for CT & X-Ray imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned
- Performs routine and advanced CT & X-Ray imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
- Adjusts CT & X-Ray scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
- Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers and other associates and peers
- Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers
- Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
- Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
- Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
- Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and abilities, remaining approachable and objective
- Manage all hiring and retention processes, responsible for initial and ongoing training of new & existing team members
- Initiate and participate in team member performance evaluations, compensation, and development, and conduct performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and/or up to termination if necessary
- Facilitate and lead regular team meetings and team member one-on-one (1:1) meeting's with each direct report team member and ensure your direct report leaders are doing the same.
- Mentor and support team members, encouraging a culture of collaboration, compensation & HR systems excellence, accountability, and continuous learning and improvement
- Develops team members schedules to provide for planned time off, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and adequate coverage
- Determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths
- Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
- Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
- Assists with training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
