Role Overview

Supervise the licensing process to ensure compliance with all applicable state-specific regulations as they pertain to business written on TMHCC Life paper (TMHCC Stop Loss Group and TMHCC Specialty Group). Monitor and communicate state licensing regulation changes, communicate those changes to all impacted departments, and initiate changes in licensing/appointment processes as needed. Maintain customer-focused working relationships with regional office personnel, management, other TMHCC departments and producers.

What You Bring

  • 5 years of experience in Licensing

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Provide guidance, development, and training to ensure quality work from licensing team.

  • Develop and implement improvements as needed to streamline the onboarding process to improve the overall producer experience.

  • Remain current on compliance issues, regulatory requirements, and company procedures. Monitor updates on regulatory changes to state-specific requirements. Evaluate the impact to our licensing/appointment processes. Implement changes as needed to remain compliant with regulations, and communicate changes to staff, regions, and producers.

  • Oversee licensing team’s review of appointment forms submitted by agencies/agents/individuals to ensure forms are complete and in good order.

  • Oversee review of any issues flagged on background investigation results.

  • Oversee license verification and processing of appropriate appointments needed for licensing confirmation review/approval prior to any policy issuance or commission payment in order to ensure compliance with all state-specific requirements.

  • Communicate licensing requirements clearly to the region/producer, and provide guidance to meet those requirements, as needed.

  • Address regional and producer questions and concerns respectfully, and seek solutions to accommodate without compromising compliance with state requirements.

  • Proactively seek out and communicate with key regional personnel to address foreseeable licensing issues in order to prevent licensing delays with policy issuance.

  • Determine how to meet customer and employee needs, and identify resources to do so.

  • Maintain licensing records and preserve the confidentiality of personal information to the extent reasonably possible in fulfilling job duties.

  • Review agency name changes and provide the requested information to Contact Management.

  • Review all In-Force policy changes to Agent of Record and/or Commission Payee to determine whether compliance with state requirements is impacted.

  • Oversee Licensing’s review of all mid-year BOR changes for policies.

  • Act as Administrator and SME for TMHCC’s Intuitive Producer Administration platform (IPA) and as a member of the IPA Center of Excellence team (CoE), addressing updates to the platforms.

  • Review, reconcile/pay state appointment renewal invoices.

  • Pay licensing invoices via company eCheck or credit card.

  • Approve all Esker payments for the Compliance department.

  • Quarterly LAS Security Reviews.

  • Maintain, process, and renew state licenses/appointments for TMHCC executives.
