
Chef Pastry Assistant Regional -Full Time (Harrah's Atlantic City)
Job Description
This position is responsible for assisting the Executive Pastry Chef Regional in the daily preparation of all items in the regional Pastry Shop.
Fast paced, hot and steamy environment, extremely demanding, flex scheduling based on demands. Starting salary $55,000- $65,000
• Coordinates and supervises the daily workload to ensure pars are kept and proper rotation is done.
• Confers with the Executive Pastry Chef Regional regarding all areas where pastries are served for their freshness and quality.
• Makes suggestions on new desserts and ideas to the Executive Pastry Chef Regional.
• Ensures all prepatory work is done in the pantries, particularly with fruits and vegetables.
• Monitors the quality of all incoming produce ordered by purchasing.
• Ensures cleanliness of the bakeshop, including the storeroom, freezer and walk-in refrigerator in accordance with City and State Health Department Codes.
• Constantly coordinates with Chefs to create the most efficient dishes.
• Adheres to Hotel policies and all Food & Beverage requisition policies.
• Utilizes all by-products in the kitchen by making them into special dishes to conserve food costs.
• Assist with coaching, training and development of Pastry staff.
Graduate of a culinary school preferred. Two to four years experience preferred.
• Must have excellent team leadership skills
• Must have excellent communication skills and pay attention to details.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
