Pay Range:

$49,700.00 - $81,650.00

Position Summary: 

Bio-Techne’s GMP Process Development team is responsible for the development of Bio-Techne's various product lines, with a focus on the high-quality recombinant protein products. We seek a highly motivated and creative individual to participate in the development, optimization, and technology transfer of protein purification procedures for recombinant proteins expressed in E. coli cell lines to our GMP production facility. In addition, you will develop procedures and processes in the feasibility stages of the development cycle. 

This is a great opportunity to gain experience with cutting-edge biotech development/manufacturing processes & practices while working in a collaborative laboratory environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support development of Bio-Techne reagents and consumables  

  • Set up and conduct experiments that further new product development  

  • Follow standard operating procedures  

  • Document results and prepare reports summarizing your data  

  • Responsible for transferring and scaling developed procedures 

  • Write protocols for the purification of recombinant proteins 

  • Collaborate with other departments/labs as needed  

  • Follow guidelines and comply with all company safety, quality, and training procedures and regulations  

  • Assist with writing Design Control documents within the Quality Management System 

  • Perform additional duties as assigned  

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent required with 2-4 years of laboratory experience. 

  • Experience with Akta chromatography systems preferred. 

  • Experience with tangential flow filtration systems preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment (e.g. pipettes, centrifuge, computers, etc.) 

  • Ability to handle complex and repetitive tasks. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel. 

  • Capability to work in a fast-faced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines. 

  • Ability to plan, organize and multi-task to complete assignments in an efficient manner. 

  • Ability to pay attention to details and perform at a high-level accuracy. 

  • Proficiency in professional communication, both orally and in writing. 

  • Perform work independently on routine assignments or projects and work with a team. 

In addition to annual base salary, this position is eligible to receive a target annual cash bonus based on individual and company performance, in accordance with company policy.
