Position: General Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt

Position Overview

The General Manager is the senior operating leader responsible for full P&L ownership, operational execution, team leadership, and growth strategy for a residential home services business operating within a larger growth platform.

This role blends hands-on operational oversight with financial accountability and strategic planning.


Core Responsibilities

Operations & Service Delivery

  • Lead installation, service, repair, dispatch, and scheduling functions

  • Oversee warehousing, inventory, fleet, tools, and asset utilization

  • Ensure execution of safety, quality, and customer experience standards

  • Improve workflows, SOPs, and operational dashboards

  • Remove bottlenecks and drive field productivity

Financial Leadership

  • Own full P&L performance

  • Develop and manage budgets and forecasts

  • Monitor job costing, gross margins, labor efficiency, and overhead

  • Drive pricing discipline and cost controls

  • Analyze KPIs and operating performance

Sales & Growth

  • Partner with sales to improve close rates and revenue performance

  • Support customer and channel relationships

  • Contribute to market expansion initiatives

People Leadership

  • Recruit, develop, and retain managers and field teams

  • Establish performance metrics and accountability

  • Lead performance reviews and coaching

  • Foster a culture of safety and operational excellence

Compliance & Risk

  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain safety programs and training standards

  • Oversee insurance and risk management practices


Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years leadership in home services, construction, or field operations

  • Proven P&L ownership

  • Strong financial and operational acumen

  • Experience leading managers and scaling teams

  • Strong decision-making and communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience in residential trades

  • Experience in growth-oriented or investor-backed environments

  • Experience with field service management software

Competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Incentive compensation and long-term upside available.
