Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the administrative direction of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Director of Womens Health performs professional, medical, and administrative duties. Provides leadership, oversight, and supervision to all Women’s Health providers across Variety Care. Collaborates with the executive management team and Board of Directors to advance organizational goals and ensure alignment with Variety Care’s mission and strategic plan.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provides clinical leadership and direction to the Women’s Health providers and staff across all health centers.
- Supervises Women’s Health providers, including scheduling, evaluation, mentoring, and disciplinary actions, in collaboration with the CMO and Practice Administrators.
- Performs comprehensive women’s health examinations, formulates diagnoses, prescribes treatment, and develops individualized care plans consistent with licensure and organizational protocols.
- Maintains accurate and timely Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
- Makes independent clinical decisions while maintaining collaborative communication with the multidisciplinary team and leadership.
- Meets or exceeds annual productivity and quality standards as established by the Board of Directors.
- Oversees the development and review of Women’s Health policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
- Leads and participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives, including peer review, chart audits, and risk-management processes.
- Conducts annual evaluations for Women’s Health providers and ensures continuous performance feedback for support staff.
- Facilitates regular team meetings to address patient care issues, enhance workflows, and improve outcomes.
- Collaborates with the Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, and other service line Directors to promote integrated, team-based, whole-person care.
- Represents Women’s Health at leadership meetings and committees as designated by the CMO.
- Partners with administrative leadership to optimize clinic operations, care coordination, and patient access across all women’s health sites.
- Leads implementation of operational or clinical changes as approved by leadership.
- Acts as the primary liaison between Women’s Health providers and administration.
- Adheres to and enforces infection control and universal precaution standards.
- Serves as a Variety Care liaison to local, state, and national organizations as directed by the CMO.
- Directs and supervises medical, nursing, and allied health students; coordinates with other service lines and educational partners to support interdisciplinary learning.
- Provides input to the CMO on recruitment, hiring, and termination of Women’s Health staff.
- Hires, trains, and supervises personnel to ensure efficient operations; monitors departmental performance and implements corrective action or development plans as needed.
- Maintains awareness of departmental goals, budgetary expectations, and healthcare trends to support operational excellence.
- Fosters a culture of excellence, teamwork, and patient-centered service.
- Provides telehealth services when appropriate, ensuring adherence to privacy and quality standards.
- Supports Variety Care’s Patient-Centered Medical Home accreditation and the Quadruple Aim: improving patient experience, population health, provider well-being, and cost-effectiveness.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), or Physician Assistant (PA) licensed in the State of Oklahoma.
- Board-certified OB/GYN or nationally certified by the appropriate professional body (for APRNs or PAs).
- Holds or is eligible for an unrestricted DEA registration and Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBNDD) certification.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as OB/GYN provider; prior leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Women’s Health team management, clinical operations, and quality improvement models.
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely, independent decisions.
- Exceptional communication, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills when engaging with staff, patients, administration, and external partners.
- Proficient in the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and general computer systems.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and travel between clinic sites as needed; demonstrates commitment to Variety Care’s mission and values.
