Legal Intern

What You’ll Do   Assist L+M Legal team on a variety of assignments.  L+M attorneys and paralegals are involved in every aspect of the company’s operations.  We help to structure and negotiate the acquisition, investment, finance, construction, operation, leasing and management of the L+M portfolio.  We do this while being mindful of all governmental regulatory requirements—affordable housing is a highly regulated field—and look out for the best interests of L+M at all times.  L+M offers a comprehensive intern program.  During the ten-week program, interns will gain exposure to the industry, tour several jobsites, and make a presentation on lessons learned to senior management. Specific duties will vary depending on the team but include tasks similar to these:   Duties and Responsibilities: Attend meetings with L+M counsel Assist on legal research projects, with supervision Assist in the preparation for closings of real estate transactions (acquisition, disposition, financing, construction, leasing) Draft correspondence and other memoranda Help us stay organized!   Who We Want   Must be 18 years of age or older.   Pursuing an undergraduate college degree.   Interested and highly motivated candidate with a demonstrated interest in community development, affordable housing and/or real estate investment.
