Location: Middletown, NY Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour  Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM (40hrs) On-Site Position   Make an Impact Behind the Scenes Join a mission-driven organization where your financial expertise directly supports services that help individuals live more independent, fulfilling lives. We’re looking for a highly detail-oriented accounting professional who can work independently, manage complex data, and ensure financial accuracy. Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting professional with strong healthcare billing experience to support core financial operations. This role requires advanced Excel capabilities, a solid understanding of general ledger activity, and the ability to independently manage reconciliations and reporting in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Perform healthcare billing functions, including Medicaid and private insurance billing, vouchering, cash and denial postings, and collections follow-up Prepare and post journal entries; maintain accuracy of general ledger activity Complete account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Develop and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets and financial tracking tools Support monthly and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation Analyze financial data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements Collaborate with staff and leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting Required Qualifications Healthcare billing experience (Medicaid and private insurance) – required Advanced Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) – required Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliations – required Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field with 1+ year of experience, or Bachelor’s degree Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work independently Effective communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset Preferred Qualifications Experience in a non-profit or human services environment Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily office-based with extended periods of computer work Ability to move throughout the workday and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs Work performed in a collaborative, open office setting Why Join Us?
