Job Description
Ares is looking for a Senior Global Conferences & Events professional to join the Ares Events Team. The Events team is a part of the Global Client Solutions Group and based in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Mumbai. This person will lead planning and execution on large flagship events from initial conception to reconciliation, including pre-event organization, budget management, production management, onsite execution, staff management, senior management liaison, and final cost analysis. They will also own pieces of complex conferences. Events are hosted in cities around the world that range in size from 100 to 1,000 attendees. The successful candidate will deliver upon both on-going responsibilities to run existing processes and will also assist with creating new processes for global conferences and operations within the Global Client Solutions Group. This person will be responsible for venue selection, vendor relationship management, logistics management – production schedules, audio-visual and technology requirements, registration, compliance preclearance (if relevant), event collateral (signage, gifts, name tags), food and beverage selection, speaker management, space and meeting room allocations. They will also be responsible for creating new team processes and effectively interface with the Relationship Managers within the Global Client Solutions Group and Investor Relations teams are Ares.

Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities
Responsible for leading planning and execution on large events from initial conception to reconciliation, including pre-event organization, budget management, production management, onsite execution, staff management, senior management liaison, and final cost analysis
Delivers flawless events, including pre-con meetings, overall management of the event, working directly with the GCS team as well as Investment Leadership, Product Management, and various other stakeholders across the firm.
Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze and articulate key themes, issues, risks and articulate all those elements to GCS Leadership and stakeholders
Ability to carefully consider consequences / outcomes, think before acting / speaking, demonstrate strong awareness, make sound decisions, serve as a trusted partner
Mentor junior team members
Partner with the Global Conferences & Events team to research and plan event schedules that will best meet the needs of target markets within geographic regions; support the design, planning, implementation, marketing and coordination of events, conferences, roadshows, and logistics
Ensure an engaging client experience and achievement of program objectives by consistently meeting deadlines on assigned events and projects and keeping stakeholders apprised
Responsible for partnering with Registration team on website builds and communications, RSVP tracking in Cvent & Salesforce, and report distribution to stakeholders
Take on ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Management field preferred, with outstanding academic record
Experience Required
12-15 years of events experience required
Experience in financial services industry strongly preferred
General Requirements
Proficiency in Cvent, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining the highest quality standards
Willingness to travel globally (approximately 30%)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to travel domestically and globally up to 30% for onsite event support, conferences, and sponsorship activations
Ability to work onsite in the office four days per week, in alignment with team and business needs
Flexibility to work outside standard business hours as required, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends during peak event periods or for global responsibilities
Ability to lift and transport event materials (such as signage, registration equipment, and boxes) up to 20 lbs
Ability to stand, walk, and move between event spaces for extended periods during event setup, execution, and breakdown

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$150,000 - $200,000 / annum
