We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and service-oriented Resident Care Coordinator who will lead our caregiving team with professionalism, accountability, and a genuine commitment to resident-centered care.

The Resident Care Coordinator plays a critical leadership role in ensuring our residents receive exceptional care while supporting and developing our caregivers and medication technicians. This individual will be responsible for staffing, training, compliance, care plan implementation, quality assurance, and fostering positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.


Position Details

Position: Resident Care Coordinator
Location: Spring Gardens of Midvale
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Availability: Must be willing to work shifts, assist with floor coverage, and respond to care-related needs as necessary.
Pay: $20.00–$23.00 per hour (DOE)

Primary Responsibilities

Resident Care Leadership

  • Ensure residents receive quality care according to individualized service plans and state regulations.
  • Monitor resident care needs and collaborate with nursing and leadership teams regarding changes in condition.
  • Conduct regular care plan reviews and ensure caregivers understand and follow resident-specific care requirements.
  • Assist with resident assessments and care plan updates as needed.
  • Promote resident dignity, independence, and quality of life at all times.

Staff Scheduling & Labor Management

  • Create and manage schedules for caregivers and medication technicians.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet resident needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor labor hours and staffing efficiencies while maintaining excellent resident care.
  • Coordinate shift coverage for call-offs, vacations, and staffing shortages.
  • Assist with direct care duties when needed to ensure quality resident support.

Training & Team Development

  • Train, coach, and mentor caregivers and medication technicians.
  • Ensure all team members are properly oriented and demonstrate competency before working independently.
  • Conduct ongoing training related to resident care, safety, documentation, and company policies.
  • Provide performance coaching and corrective action when necessary.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and accountable team culture.

Medication & Documentation Oversight

  • Audit medication administration records (MARs), medication forms, and care documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Work closely with medication technicians to ensure proper medication administration procedures are followed.
  • Identify documentation deficiencies and provide corrective training.
  • Ensure resident records are complete, accurate, and up to date.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with all state regulations, company policies, and licensing requirements.
  • Conduct routine audits of resident care practices, documentation, and medication records.
  • Assist in preparation for state surveys and regulatory inspections.
  • Implement corrective action plans when deficiencies are identified.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Family & Resident Relations

  • Build trusting relationships with residents and family members.
  • Serve as a professional and compassionate resource for resident care concerns.
  • Communicate changes, concerns, and updates effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Help resolve issues proactively with a focus on solutions and resident satisfaction.

Supply & Inventory Management

  • Manage ordering and inventory of caregiving and medication-related supplies.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels while controlling costs.
  • Ensure supplies are organized, accessible, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Monitor usage trends and make recommendations for improvements

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in assisted living, memory care, senior living, healthcare, or a related field.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience managing direct care staff.
  • Strong understanding of resident care practices and service plans.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Computer proficiency and experience with electronic documentation systems.

Preferred

  • CNA certification or equivalent caregiving experience.
  • Medication Technician experience.
  • Experience with scheduling and labor management.
  • Experience with state survey preparation and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience training and developing healthcare team members.
