Job Description
M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate highly automated manufacturing facilities where equipment reliability, safety, and preventive maintenance are critical to meeting production and quality expectations.
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing plastic injection molding machines, associated equipment, and facility infrastructure. This role ensures that all equipment, safety, and facility standards remain in technical compliance while supporting efficient and reliable production operations.
Schedule: 3rd Shift, 10:30PM-7:00AM
Key Responsibilities
Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
Log equipment usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum functionality
Diagnose, analyze, and repair electro-mechanical and instrumentation equipment using meters, gauges, and other testing methods
Apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to install, repair, and replace defective equipment
Identify root causes of downtime, poor production performance, non-conforming product, and scrap
Recommend changes to standard maintenance procedures by validating applicability and effectiveness
Prepare work areas to ensure required tools are available and in proper working condition
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues while demonstrating proactive maintenance behaviors and best practices
Perform required preventive maintenance assignments and complete documentation in a timely manner
Communicate safety, quality, and production concerns to team leaders and supervisors
Perform daily preventive maintenance on production equipment
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles
Identify equipment requiring replacement and notify the supervisor
Work collaboratively with other team members to support a positive team environment
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to perform IML setup and troubleshooting
Basic knowledge of heat transfer machine setup and troubleshooting
Understanding of machines and tools, including their use, repair, and maintenance
Understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Working knowledge of food safety, GMP, PRP, HACCP, and food contact material requirements (in applicable facilities)
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in industrial maintenance required
Less than one (1) year of experience related to plastics setup preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry 25–50 pounds frequently
Ability to assist with lifting more than 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to perform work involving bending, stooping, stretching, and climbing ladders
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include hot or cold conditions
Ability to wear required PPE at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
