Responsibilities Job summary: Plan and manage a team of Warehouse Operatives on a daily basis to achieve daily workload. Ensure audit readiness is maintained in the Warehouse at all times, including compliance to all legislation appertaining to Health & Safety, Employment Law, Food Safety and company hygiene standards. Cover Shift Managers holiday and absences Major duties & responsibilities: Manage the daily tasks a team to ensure the Warehouse achieves against planned targets and all relevant KPI’s Manage and understand the WMS system Knowledge and understanding of Shift Manager role and what is required to cover in their absence MHE – Maintaining and charging of batteries Loading – Freezer/Chill/Dry- Loaded correctly and on time QIP – Making sure that the shift follow QIP guidelines and that daily paperwork complete. Raising product issues with the Quality manager To work efficiently and effectively as part of a team To ensure all cages picked and loaded meet MBUK standards To manage the work area to ensure clean and tidy at all times To maintain high levels of Health and Safety standards To achieve the targets and job standards set out by management To be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work To perform any reasonable request from Management Qualifications Profile: Innovative approach, forward thinking, able to think ‘outside the box’ and generate new opportunities for improvement A team player and team builder Strong attention to detail The ability to make good judgments and quick decisions Technical competencies: 2+ years of related work experience Previous management experience in a similar FMCG operation Previous experience of MS computer packages to intermediate level Good performance management skills Previous experience with conducting interviews Experience of managing within a union environment – Desirable Formal management skills, experience of employment law, and HR processes – Desirable Behavioural competencies: Adaptability Accepts and adapts to changes Learns new skills to meet new needs of the business Suggests changes and improvements Quality Work Output Produces quality work Follows safety practices and compliance policies Uses time wisely and gets things done Meets or exceeds deadlines Takes responsibility for own actions Service Orientation Supports the company's mission, vision and values Meets or exceeds customer needs Responds to requests in a timely manner Takes initiative to meet customers' needs Resourcefulness Uses materials, processes and tools efficiently Takes initiative to solve problems Does the most important work first Gets things done while still upholding ethics, integrity, compliance and company values Teamwork Works with others to get things done Openly shares feedback and information that helps the team Treats others with respect Is approachable to others Listens so others feel heard Develops relationships built on trust This list is not intended to be exhaustive.
