Finastra is seeking an Associate ReactJS Software Engineer to join our Malauzai product team. Malauzai is a successful and growing software firm based in Austin, Texas developing applications for community banks and credit unions. Our team works on an innovative, highly dynamic web & mobile banking application with a quickly growing user base. This role is designed for an early-career engineer looking to grow within an agile development environment using modern SDLC practices. The successful candidate should be a strong communicator, eager to learn, and ready to collaborate with a team of experienced engineers to deliver high-quality solutions. We strive to maintain a code base that is as simple and clean as possible, and we are looking for someone who shares that commitment.

What will you contribute? 

As an Associate ReactJS Software Engineer, you will join a team of engineers, product owners, and project managers to assist in the design, development, and maintenance of our React-based mobile application. You will work closely with the team to ensure the delivery of functional and non-functional requirements in a high-quality mobile application.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in building and maintaining components for a well-tested application using ReactJS and other web technologies. 
  • Implement and test (Unit & UI testing) features to support our growing mobile banking users under the guidance of senior engineers. 
  • Participate in the software lifecycle, from requirements gathering to development and testing. 
  • Collaborate with team members for problem-solving, bug fixes, and new feature implementations. 
  • Build reusable UI components that are lightweight and fast for the user. 
  • Be an active participant in team meetings and contribute to process improvement. 
  • Participate in code and design reviews to learn best practices and ensure code quality. 
  • Learn and follow Scrum and Agile principles and processes.

Requirements: 

  • Must be a graduate of a Bachelor's Degree
  • 0–2 years of experience in developing web-based user interfaces. 
  • Foundational knowledge and working experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, and ReactJS. 
  • Familiarity with Redux, React Router, or React Navigation is a plus. 
  • Basic understanding of browser APIs and best practices for web application development. 
  • A strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to work with architected software solutions. 
  • Motivation to learn how to optimize solutions for speed, stability, and scalability.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Interest or experience in cross-platform mobile applications. 
  • Exposure to developing consumer-facing software. 
  • Knowledge of cross-platform frameworks such as Ionic and Capacitor. 
  • Familiarity with application security best practices. 
  • Experience or exposure to Agile, JIRA, Git, and Azure DevOps.
