Position Summary
The employee performs job site observations of Electrical systems to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, designs, codes, standards, and regulations. The employee documents site and field conditions and participates in discussions to determine appropriate resolution to nonconformance. The employee should have advanced knowledge of the industry, codes, guides and standards. In addition, the employee should be able to work with a moderate amount of independence but may require occasional supervision and mentoring.

Major Accountabilities
Essential Duties
Site Observations & Testing
Performs job site observations to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, designs, codes, standards, and regulations.
Documents site and field conditions and participates in discussions to determine appropriate resolution to nonconformance.
Provides site observation technical information and assistance to engineers or team leaders.
Makes recommendations as to the feasibility of certain systems or equipment and their application.
Attends preliminary job meetings and helps evaluate scope of work to be performed.
Assists in the preparation of system layout, detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications based upon site observation.
Reads and interprets blueprints and construction specifications.
System Installation & Contractor Responses
Prepares clear and accurate responses and reports to contractors who are submitting documents for review.

High school diploma or GED required
Necessary training, licenses and/or certifications.
Discipline specific certifications preferred
Valid driver’s license
Type and length of previous experience needed.
3+ years’ experience in the design, installation and construction administration of systems
Relevant site observation or inspection experience preferred
Skills and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of the job.
Understanding of the installation and construction administration of Electrical Systems
Must have advanced knowledge of the industry, codes, guides and standards
Able to work with a moderate amount of independence but may require occasional supervision and mentoring
Must have a thorough knowledge of the computer database (i.e. EVOCO, Plan Grid etc...)
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications
Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate in a clear and concise manner
Possesses effective problem solving skills
Adapts to changing work environments, work priorities, and organizational needs
Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
Must be a self-starter, proactive, and willing to help others when needed
Ability to take direction and constructive criticism from others
Ability to reliably and predictably carry out the functions of this job
Other necessary requirements (i.e. Travel, Shifts, Physical Demands, etc.).
Significant travel required – approximately 50% of time
Must be flexible and able to travel with little notice
Ability to work varying shift times depending on the project, i.e. night or weekends
Ability to be on your feet all day and climb ladders
