Job Summary
We are seeking a Title Attorney to join our team in greater Chattanooga, TN area, Northern Mississippi, or Northwest Georgia. The Title Attorney will manage residential settlements for assigned office(s), including client acquisition and retention, conducting real estate settlements, and advising/providing support to assigned or centralized employees. This role will also supervise Branch Office Staff with some indirect supervision for other positions.
Responsibilities
Achieves targeted financial results through effective business development efforts and the proper execution of company policies, procedures, and programs.
Works in partnership with Corporate Office on all operational and underwriting functions.
Represents the company and pursues business at marketing functions to include, but not limited to, sales meetings, educational classes, conventions, and after hour social events.
Manage client accounts, actively.
Completes with all federal, state, and local employment regulations and settlement guidelines.
Exhibits a high level of willingness to engage in teamwork with other managers, employees, and company branches.
Monitors effectiveness of communication and processes throughout the lifecycle of files, striving for and providing the highest level of customer service possible.
Actively markets assigned region (or office) to grow the business through proven settlement ability and effective business development activities. Effectively communicates the value of company service offerings.
Oversee and actively participate in all phases of account management to meet revenue objectives.
Develops and maintains customer relationships. Produce consistent customer growth through effective account management practices with an emphasis on client acquisition and retention.
Manages any assigned staff or “dotted line” reporting assignments. Builds staff and company morale through listening and engagement with team. As appropriate, participates in the employee life cycle process for branch personnel to include interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, counseling, and conducting performance reviews.
Participates in company meetings and training programs.
Travels frequently for settlement closings, sales meetings, trainings, and marketing events.
Prepares and reviews documents associated with commercial and residential real estate transactions.
Teach real estate related classes and seminars.
Participates in drafting and revising continuing education course material.
Consults (within company guidelines) on real estate laws and regulations as it relates to buying or selling real estate.
Explains settlement process to clients thoroughly and ensures all necessary documents are completed and signed by all parties to meet federal, state, and local requirements. Reviews settlement files after settlement for compliance.
Ensures settlement files are complete, accurate and verified prior to and after settlement to maintain proper accuracy, and to guarantee client satisfaction.
Maintains compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards; federal and state regulations; and company reporting and record keeping procedures and security practices.
Assists company with any disputes or complaints resulting from real estate settlements, client relationships, or other transactions/interactions related to his/her work with the company.
Participate in ongoing training to develop further knowledge of the industry and changes that affect the organization.
Demonstrates teamwork by assisting other company-affiliated branch offices and regions.
Completes special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience
Graduate from an accredited law school.
Admitted to the GA or MS State Bar or ability to gain admission.
At least two or more years’ legal title and settlement experience in GA or MS.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and networking and business development skills.
Title Producer license in at least one of the following jurisdictions: Ga or MS, or ability to obtain.
Notary public or ability to obtain.
Experience with conducting settlements is required, preferably in MD, VA, and DC.
Familiarity with Qualia, SoftPro Select, or Resware transactions is preferred but not required.
Valid state driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record, satisfactory credit report and criminal background check and ability to qualify for any license required by the state.
