Fleetway is seeking a Marine Technologist to join our Marine Technical Services (MTS) team in an exciting onsite role at Davie Shipyard in Lévis, QC, working directly alongside the Department of National Defence (DND). - Support the analysis of engineering changes and the assessment of naval ships, systems, and equipment, which may include structures, materials, welding, coatings, shock and vibration, damage control systems, and piping.
- Participate in technical investigations and engineering studies to help identify, troubleshoot, and resolve marine engineering challenges.
- Contribute technical input to engineering specifications and drawings, and help review, update, or develop technical documentation for naval systems and equipment.
- Provide guidance to clients, project teams, and colleagues on hull systems and naval architecture technologies, appropriate to your level of experience.
- Prepare or support the preparation of technical publications, reports, and other project deliverables, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Use standard computer tools (e.g., MS Office Suite) to manage documentation, communicate technical findings, and support project coordination.
- Apply your marine maintenance knowledge and safely operate in shipboard environments, including the ability to move throughout vessels, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as required.
Education:
For Junior and Intermediate Candidates:
- Completion of a Naval Architecture Technologist Diploma
- Experience working in a marine environment is considered an asset.
For Senior Candidates:
- RQPO1 Maintenance Manager Qualification from Canadian Navy from RCN with 20+ years of experience
- TQ6A or TQ6B (or equivalent) in Marine Engineering, Marine Electrical, Hull, or Combat Systems from the Canadian Navy or a Diploma in Engineering Technology
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet project deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Physically capable of moving about a ship, including climbing ladders and navigating confined spaces.
- Candidates must be eligible to obtain required security clearances.
