Job Description
The production planner coordinates the entire manufacturing chain to balance demand and resources, managing inventory, deadlines, and procurement to ensure efficient and timely production using our ERP system. Their main tasks include creating schedules, monitoring inventory, coordinating internal departments, managing human and material resources, and analyzing production variances to optimize efficiency.
Role and responsibilities
Role: Coordinate and organize the production line to meet customer demand.
Mission
Define production schedules to optimize resources (staff, machines) and deadlines.
Ensure the availability of necessary materials.
Manage inventory and deadline constraints.
Time frame: Mainly short and medium term (daily, weekly).
Focus: Production efficiency, costs, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key objectives
Planning: Develop and monitor the master production schedule (MPS) to set production targets.
Inventory management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, anticipate shortages, and manage supply orders.
Scheduling: Determine production quantities, timing, and allocation of necessary human and material resources.
Internal coordination: Act as an interface between customers and the factory and facilitate communication between different departments within the company.
Production control: Supervise the production process to ensure that deadlines and quality objectives are met.
Main responsibilities
Analysis and adjustment: Check schedules in real time, analyze any delays or technical problems, and readjust production according to unforeseen events.
Administrative management: Update production files, enter information into the appropriate software, and prepare manufacturing orders.
Resource monitoring: Check the availability of machines, tools, and personnel, and propose solutions to optimize their use.
All other related tasks are considered part of the role and may be assigned as needed.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Knowledge of ERP systems
Organized and rigorous.
Responsive and equipped with excellent analytical skills to manage numerical information.
Able to make quick decisions, adapt to change, and work as part of a team.
Communication skills (written and oral).
Master the French and English language (customers from the United States).
